Best At-Home Microcurrent Devices for Facial Tightening

Let’s be real, do at-home microcurrent facial devices actually work?

I went out on a mission to test the top microcurrent devices that one could use at home. Ratings used were; ease of use, price point, and results, of course!

With so many different options, where does one even start? Well, I ordered as many as I could to give an honest option - pros and cons for all to fit your specific needs.

What is Microcurrent?

  • Microcurrent is a modality that mimics the body’s own chemical electrical signals at a cellular level, “recharging” the cells and resulting in the toning of muscles while producing more collagen and elastin.
  • The Microcurrent directed in specific patterns and frequencies, exercises and strengthens facial muscles. It's lifting and strengthening actions build tone through the cumulative effect of our treatment series. With repeated sessions, facial muscles will hold their tone.
  • The Microcurrent carries specially formulated ionic solutions to the underlying layers of skin to improve hydration, elasticity and circulation.

Essentially, microcurrent technology helps lift, tone and contour your facial muscles. Kind of like a workout for your face!

Microcurrent Device Reviews

NUFACE Advanced

Price point: Average Price around $300

Ease of Use: Very easy, can be used with one hand. The prongs were a little large so it was harder around the eye area, but comfortable for mid and lower face.

Results: I could see results right away! I did half of my face first and noticed a lift in my cheek after just a few minutes.  I love it and again, if you buy it from Amazon and decide it’s not for you, they have an easy return policy.

7e Wellness Microcurrent Device

Price Point: $300

Ease of Use: This device was the most difficult to use, as there are two hand pieces that coincide with each other. It does come with great instructions and there are tons of YouTube videos to watch.

Results: I did notice a dramatic difference with this device on my eyelids and brows, like WOW! The prongs are small so you can really get close to the areas around the eyes and nasal folds.

ZIIP Nanocurrent Microcurrent Device

Price Point: $495

Ease of Use: Simple operation, easy and quick to get the hang of. Requires focus with varied routines & follow-along videos via the App. Gel doesn’t dry out, pleasant massaging sensation with no pain, irritation or side effects.

Results: Again, I did see an immediate lift, & subtle effects. The company says you see noticeable anti-aging results around 4 weeks, reduces pigmentation & acne around 3 weeks. Tightens, tones & clarifies for fresh & healthy skin. I did LOVE the gel that comes with it. This tiny device does pack a huge punch and well worth the investment.

Trophy Skin RejuvatoneMD - Microcurrent Facial Device

Price Point: $199

Ease of Use: This device is pretty similar to the hand held devices, you only need one hand! YAY! The directions on this device were not the most detailed.

Results: I have been using it for a couple weeks, and I am seeing results. It has tightened my neck and jaw areas. My cheek areas became more defined and toned. Does not seem as high end as the other designs, not as sturdy either.

In conclusion, with all microcurrent, consistency is KEY! Since it's like a workout for your face, you need to treat it as such. One cannot go to the gym once and all of their problems are solved, you need to stay on a routine. This is a non-invasive way to get lifting and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I would say microcurrent is perfect for those who do not want to go under the knife or want injections like botox or dermal fillers.
